I’ve been enjoying fall most this year than others. For the first time in my life, I am living alone and learning how that feels. I’ve been immersing myself in a peaceful kind of solitary. Some of the nights feel a little empty or lonely, but I enjoy the challenge of filling up an evening in resourceful ways. Plus, it makes up for the weekend trips I’ve been taking where I’ve been non-stop on-the-go. This past weekend: in Baltimore.
While in the city, I began remembering the reasons why I love this season in particular.
The way a bright patch of leaves with strike you on any empty alley.
The striking of boots upon pavement and leaves.
Wrapping yourself in the comfort of layers.
Breezy, cold air on a porch that you’re sharing with another.
How the months later in the year always feel more full.
Walking to your car at the end of the day, not really knowing whether a coat is needed.
The creativity that comes with holiday celebrations and months of hibernating.
I am hoping that I fill these remaining weeks of 2012 with as much joy and creativity as I can muster. Fingers crossed.

I am enjoying this fall more than usual as well. I’m typically not a fan, but this year has been off to a great start. I love reading about how you’re filling your fall with happiness!
So happy to hear that you’ve been enjoying this season so much! Can’t wait to hear about all your trips!
